How to Find (Actual) Product Reviews in 2 Seconds – And Other Upcoming Stuff…

April 4th, 2009 · 64 Comments

Hey guys,

I’ll keep this blog post right to the point…

Here’s an overview of what I’m launching/developing in ’09.

Please let me know if I’m missing anything that you’d like to see!

Okay, here goes…

First thing first – and this is already completed – the product review search engine.

This is very, very cool. Very simple – but very cool. It saves you hours of searching through forums (and trying to filter out affiliate content) when you’re sourcing actual consumer comments about virtually ANY product.

Check it out here:

http://www.thelazymarketer.com/conduitsearch.php

Make sure you bookmark that one. It’s incredibly useful.

Okay, now – after the last of the VIP products is released – here is what’s on the menu for 2009…

1. Pre-built affiliate content sites in virtually every profitable market.

I’m not just talking the clickbank markets. I’m talking everything that sells. CJ, CPA, ClickBank, ShareaSale, MarketHealth – you name it. We’re in the process of making it ultra easy for affiliates to get into markets quickly, start driving traffic and making profits.

This will NOT be a membership site. It will be like a store, where you can add sites/content packs to a “cart” and then checkout. That way you can just get what you want for the markets you want to pursue, and then come back later for more as need be. I’ve always thought the PLR membership model was kind of limited. I don’t want to wait 4 months to get the right kind of content for a niche that interests me…

For applicable markets, there will also be opt-in offers, autoresponder sequences, etc. The whole sha-bang.

Affiliates can just go get a 15-20 page content/review site, rewrite the content and BOOM – you’re ready to go with a totally unique “tester” site in any given market.

The sites will be totally pro and optimized for great conversions.

Status: In development, first 10 sites are already being developed. In time there will be hundreds.

2. “Six Months to Six Figures”

A 6-month course that delivers a weekly action plan. Obviously, the result is that those who actually FOLLOW each week’s set of actions will have built the framework for a 6-figure online business.

Status: In development. Content is in progress.

3. “Foolproof Comissions”

This will be a resource for serious affiliates, where merchants will provide specific (actual) conversion figures, PPC data and so on for their products. This will have a limited membership to try and cap competition. Priced accordingly.

Status: Still in idea stage – your suggestions are most welcome!

4. “Affiliate Scope”

An affiliate program directory with a twist. You’ll be able to sort by payout, continuity, reputation/rating, datafeeds, etc. Will likely be free.

Status: Still in idea stage – your suggestions are most welcome!

5. Confessions of a Lazy Super-Affiliate: Vol. II

Bigger, badder and bolder – and still way underpriced, just like the current one.

I’ve got some very cool things and examples in this one…

Status: In development, content is in progress.

So there ya go :-)

That’s a quick snapshot into what’s going on in ’09 in terms of TheLazyMarketer…

Now – am I missing anything?

Is there something you’d like to make sure that I include with some of the mentioned resources?

Please post a comment below and let me know.

I read every comment.

Thanks

-Chris

P.S. For those of you who purchased my latest VIP product, the Hot Product Formula, I’ll be releasing an additional (free) update to the course so as to clarify a few things based on some of the feedback I’ve received. The “patch” will be released right away.

Chris this is great news. I am a big buyer of your stuff and when I saw the idea of prebuilt affiliate sites I just kind of cringed, good for the first guy but terrible for the second guy. As long as the site is editable though it would be a great resource I think.

any thought of creating any of these products in WordPress though? That way adding future content to the feeder site or expanding it to a full blown authority site would be as easy as adding content.

  • 2 PPC Conversion Tracking Blog // Apr 4, 2009 at 10:28 pm

Wow.. absolutely awesome… can’t wait to check out these pre made affiliate sites… I wonder though how these can be made as unique as possible for each buyer since they will be available to everyone who comes to the store to buy.

On that note… what traffic methods would be ideal to use for these content sites? Organic rankings? PPC?

    Can’t wait indeed. Good job!

  • 3 Nick // Apr 4, 2009 at 10:28 pm

    Huge fan. Rock on!

  • 4 Hiroko // Apr 4, 2009 at 10:30 pm

Pre-built affiliate content sites, it’s just great!Yes, exactly! you are absolutely right. I found this review membership site, http://www.nichereviewtemplates.com/. It looks really great, but the problem is I don’t want to promote some of the review products. It’s like a wait and see if anything I feel like promoting and keep paying the fee! That’s what I don’t want to do. You know exactly what marketers want.

  • 5 Tony // Apr 4, 2009 at 10:37 pm

    What a good idea!!!
I never thought much of PLR articles and building sites around them, sticking Adsense on and sitting back and waiting..and waiting…

  • 6 Ray // Apr 4, 2009 at 10:40 pm

The Pre-built affiliate content sites looks interesting.

I checked the “review search engine”.
Hmpf, it does not extract reviews, it looks much like a simple query on google. The idea sounds really great, but the tool needs to do more than just a google query that everybody can do.
Jonathan Leger has created a great tool (Instant Article Wizard) that extract contents from the web. I think that’s the way to go. Something similar to that, specialized on product reviews, would be a 5 stars product.

  • 7 Social Media Consultant // Apr 4, 2009 at 10:48 pm

Yeah Chris, this is a wonderful news from you! But for your “Pre-built affiliate content sites”, hope that you can make it a limited edition, so that the market will not be flooded with the same template or whatsoever.

Or you could build a variation of ” Pre-built affiliate content sites”. That would be wonderful then.

As for your “Confessions of a Lazy Super-Affiliate: Vol. II” is it continued where you left off from part 1?

I’m eargerly looking forward in your products!

  • 8 Norman // Apr 4, 2009 at 10:52 pm

For the prebuilt sites, will we be able to modify them to at least make them look different? Can we add Adsense to these sites? They look similar in concept to the Pro2 System or Profitmart.

  • 9 Leonard Greenhall // Apr 4, 2009 at 11:09 pm

Thanks for good teaching and info – still not makeing money yet but your advice “work smart” beats working hard – which I have done (worked hard) for two years without a real breakthough
total income about $200 total spend about $4000
total hours about 6 a day each day of the week

All that I have learned is not a waste as I was a total newbie and very ill informed about everything

I can stick it out but I will try smarter ways from now

    Regards Lennie G

  • 10 Donald // Apr 4, 2009 at 11:16 pm

Chris, it sounds like you’re going to have a busy year!

Your search engine is simply great but I hope that you are not going to let too many people know about.

I like the idea of an affiliate content sites store and especially the fact that it will not run on the standard membership model. Over the years I have paid for a large number of PLR memberships and I have a hard disk full of c*** which I will never use – the price I had to pay to get the relatively few PLR packages I actually wanted.

I also like the idea of you “Six months to six figures” course which I am sure will be a winner.

BTW – will customers who already own the Lazy Affiliate get a free or discounted upgrade to Vol II?

    Many thanks

    Don

I hope you offer the special like you did at the begining with the first VIP releases! It saved me a ton of money… :)

  • 13 Joe Watson // Apr 5, 2009 at 12:57 am

I agree with the comment about WordPress (latest version) as lots of marketers are now using WordPress as their main platform for promotion.

Very little HTML knowledge (if any) is required. Sites are easy to maintain and make any changes. Easy to set up and make posts etc. etc.

    Don’t forget us Chris!

Sounds great Chris looking forward to it.
The most important information to know
is what is converting and selling.

Suggestion could you create a variety of conduit templates so everyone is not looking the same.

Just saw you will have auto responder messages,
    that’s really cool.

    Also Chris…

Dam man, your really rockin and rolling creating your own products, way to go. =)

What about the kitchen sink? LOL

  • 18 John // Apr 5, 2009 at 1:45 am

    Chris,

One thing I’d really like is an authority site plan, particularly the specifics of the link building plan. It seems for the most part people focus on what can be done for cheap or free, but I’d love a blueprint for building a major authority site. I have started doing this, buying high PR links etc and I am nervous about whether or not I am being wise in my approach. How much to spend, how many links to add each day/week, where to buy them and those sort of things. Something like that would be great, but everything you have planned sounds great as well. Always a pleasure to get your email blasts. A very rare thing in IM.

  • 19 Alex // Apr 5, 2009 at 2:28 am

Good stuff Chris, you´re going to be really busy with all this. I hope you don´t forget the VIP reports that are still on the list? ;)

  • 20 aspiring affiliate // Apr 5, 2009 at 3:33 am

Great stuff Chris. Am especially looking forwards to the 6 months to 6 igures things you are working on!

  • 21 Comprehensive // Apr 5, 2009 at 4:52 am

Good ideas Chris! To what extent will the pre-built affiliate content sites will be customisable? (Look & Feel as well as content and adding unlimited pages). Is there some way in which these sites can alert the owner of links that become redundant? Will there be ‘how-to’ instructions for uploading and publishing? Are these HTML-based (as you advocate in ‘Conduit Marketing) or WordPress or other? Any sites planned in the burgeoning LOHAS area? Affordable pricing? – like most of your products? Will the owner have full rights of resale? Well…, I’ll leave the bulk of my questions for later ;-)
    Thanks!

  • 22 Guitarmasters // Apr 5, 2009 at 5:13 am

    Great stuff! Thanks!

  • 23 Gewdton // Apr 5, 2009 at 6:11 am

Hmm, now that I noticed it, from the front page, and from John’s post…

Anyone that read the current post by Chris, watch what Chris did. Especially that link to the UBPRF or Conduit Search Engine, whatever I should call it?

Watch what’s he doing right now, and what he is planning in the future.

Chris is “scaling things up” to his lazymarketer site.

It is a real live, real-time, in front of our eyes, example of Chris going to turning thelazymarketer.com into a full-fledge authority site.

The link to the simple awesome tool for looking reviews and feedbacks, Conduit Search Engine, might attract lots of traffic, like the Google keyword tool, WordTracker, etc. (Btw, just it use about an hour ago to look for a product, literally cut my time in half searching for reviews!)

The refining of the salesletter for the Confession of a Lazy Super-Affiliate (with a video… and finally a opt-in! Obviously, Chris stuffs is so great, people are probably searching high and low and wonder why the hell Chris doesn’t have a opt-in in his front page until you bought one of his product!)

And his future plan of creating a e-store for conduit builders, a 6-month course for newbies, two more useful tools for us affiliates (aka. Google keyword tool), and finally the whole she-bang, COFSLA vol.2 which probably is the big motherload of the meaning of life or the bible?:O

Well, at least this is what I think… from just my observation.

By the way, this will be a great 2009 with all the good stuffs. Great post, Chris!:)

Also, Chris, you know where’s the FORUM at? I wonder where it could be?;)

  • 24 Easy Video // Apr 5, 2009 at 6:16 am

    Hi Chris
Sounds like a very interesting new year.
The pre built sites look very good indeed.
I am of the same opinion as Internet Business Blogger – if its possible to have them in WordPress – That would definitely be a boon for adding more content.

  • 25 barb // Apr 5, 2009 at 8:22 am

I’ll be the first one to sign up for 6 months to 6 Figures — would love to see that program offered as an online class where participants had the ability to Mastermind with other classmates throughout the process … but perhaps you’ve already thought of that …

  • 26 charles // Apr 5, 2009 at 8:22 am

I thought the product finder would be improved if you could choose the number of results to display (maybe its there and I missed it).

  • 27 Leo S. // Apr 5, 2009 at 8:22 am

Loved your ideas! I agree with post # 7 though, I hope that you are going to make the pre built affiliate sites a limited edition. I’m looking forward to your 6 figures income in 6 months course. I have an advice for you in that topic: you are going to need a forum my friend.Believe me , it’s much easier to answer all the questions that is going to invade your helpdesk if you do just once at the forum. I know by my own experience because I’m one of the moderators at the NB forum. :)

  • 36 Tried & Tested? // Apr 5, 2009 at 2:07 pm

Hi Chris, I checked out the search engine link and pretty much agree with Ray’s (post #6) views on the subject.
With regard to the pre-built sites, I’ve kind-of been there. JP Schoeffel’s Niches In A Box provides ‘packages’, actually websites, that you can choose from, with a new one every month. The trouble is that while editable, that process is hugely time-consuming, not to mention, it’s yet another unique system to learn. All this has been done before, so why re-invent the wheel – if you are going to sell sites, or components that will make up a silo-type-site, then use X-Site Pro. Lot’s of people have it, many don’t use it, but it provides a very good framework for such an activity (I’ll be going through all my sites and changing many of them soon).
Damn, perhaps I’ve just given away a new product idea..

  • 37 Emma // Apr 5, 2009 at 6:39 pm

    Hi Chris,

I love the idea of 6 figures in 6 months. Daily action plans sound fantastic!

I tried the new review search engine, and whilst I like that it only gives “downloads” and “yahoo answers” results, I think there is a flaw. These days the majority of answers on Yahoo Answers are from affiliates flogging the product with their link. So it won’t give you any honest reviews (unless they are negative) in my opinion.

It would be better if the review search engine searched product forums. (not sure if that’s possible).

  • 38 admin // Apr 5, 2009 at 6:43 pm

Hey guys & gals – thanks for all the comments and feedback – much appreciated.

I’ll try and cover the majority of the questions raised here…

Purpose of the Product Review Search Engine:
    ————————————-

The whole point of this is to instantly dig up UNBIASED, non-affiliated content pertaining to a product.

This comes in handy for several reasons, ranging from simply seeing if a product is legit to citing reviews or creating “snippets” for use with your own reviews.

At any rate, if nothing else it just simply shows you what the customers in the niche have really experienced – in their own words.

(Hint: Pay special attention to the positive comments. They reveal what makes the market excited, which you can then incorporate into your own offers and promos.)

In other words, it saves you TIME because you’re not filtering through one affiliate site after the next.

    Pre-Made Affiliate Sites:
    ——————————

The idea here is to make it easier to simply “get started” as an affiliate going into any market. The smart affiliates will realize that pre-built content is a GREAT shortcut because:

    * The offers & followups are pre-created, saving HOURS of time

    * The content can simply be re-written or used as an easy reference point to create UNIQUE content. (Perfect for outsourcing as well)

    * The products being profiled & reviewed are pre-researched. Again, saving you tons of time.

    It’s a major shortcut.

We will also have measures in place to prevent over-saturation.

    Remaining VIP Reports:
    —————————–

Of course these will still be released. I’m bundling the linking reports together into one. Everyone who purchased Confessions gets that one for free, btw.

And I’m bundling the “life lessons” and Google-proofing report into one as well, to avoid redundancy. No sense in selling re-hash when you can just say it once.

Confessions Vol 2 and the 6 Month Program
    —————————–

The emphasis for these is two core elements:

    1. Revealing actual processes
    2. Making it simple to ENACT

Masterminding may be a part of it, but most membership sites seem to have inactive forums – or congregational cluelessness. I would rather deliver unmuddled info and then perhaps have webinars or coaching options to clarify things with solid, fact-based information.

Hope that helps clear a few things up :-)

    Cheers

    -Chris

  • 39 admin // Apr 5, 2009 at 6:46 pm

    @Emma,

It doesn’t just search Yahoo Answers or download sites.

It searches over 2000 different sites. Mostly forums, actually (over 97% are forums)

Your results will vary greatly from one product to the next.

Search for several kinds of products and you’ll see this clearly.

    Cheers,

    -Chris

  • 40 Stephen // Apr 5, 2009 at 9:49 pm

This is really awesome, Chris. I’m very glad I stumbled on to you in the Warrior Forum about a year ago.

I have unsubscribed from almost all the GURUs because of an incestuous sharing of email lists that means you get 15 offers for every single new launch. And they are coming 2 every week, it seems.

But your emails, Chris, ALWAYS get through, because, like others have pointed out here, you deliver VALUE.

Are the Affiliate packages you will be creating be like the weight-loss upsell you recently did with the Conduit webinar?

    Thanks a bunch!

    Stephen

  • 41 admin // Apr 5, 2009 at 9:59 pm

    Hi Stephen,

Similar, yes. They will vary greatly depending on the topic, since each market has a different sort of “tone” and approach that works best.

And I forgot to mention that there will be blog support for these as well.

    Thanks

    -Chris

  • 42 Max // Apr 6, 2009 at 5:23 am

    Chris

Will you also be offering any kind of non-themed ‘universal’ template-sets?

I’m currently trying to locate a set of web 2.0 style pre-built generic page-templates suitable for List Building + Pre-Sell, that include:

Index Page, Combined Thank You / OTO Page, Ts & Cs Page, Earnings Disclaimer Page, Privacy Page, White Listing Tips Page, Download Page,
    Resources Page, Un-populated Article Pages

I know I could build myself (or go to elance and commission one) but the ability to instantly purchase a decent set of ready made, interlinked pages like this would be great.

Don’t suppose you know where I could grab such a set right now do you?

  • 43 Zander Boon // Apr 6, 2009 at 6:33 am

    Hi Chris,

    Search Tool:
Yep, great, as long as the general public don’t get their hands on it! There must be at least a few “civilians” out there who also get pi**ed off about finding nothing but heavily loaded affiate “review” sites.

    Affiliate review sites:
Probably a good idea, but personally I find throwing together some HTML and images less time consuming than 20 pages of “rewrite the content and BOOM” ;-) . Having said that, the opt-in and autoresponder stuff could be useful.

    Cheers
    Zander

  • 45 Andres // Apr 6, 2009 at 7:04 pm

I want the prebuilt content sites with autoresponder sequences as soon as possible, in markets with a lot of lifetime value….

    :-)

  • 46 admin // Apr 7, 2009 at 2:22 pm

    Hi Zander,

Aside from the outsourcing option (of rewriting), the biggest thing is that the sites will be lean, professional and optimized for conversions.

I’ve reviewed and critiqued countless affiliate sites from clients, and the biggest common denominator of the producing sites – aside from traffic – is the appearance of authority.

If a site looks like it’s a hard-sell, then it won’t be believable.

If it looks like a thrown-together amateur hack job of a site, then similarly, the site won’t be “believed” or taken seriously.

Simple is fine (all my sites are “simple”), but hack-jobs won’t cut it.

This is a big problem for a LOT of beginner affiliates.

And the primary reason for launching this initiative.

    Thanks!

    -Chris

  • 47 StevieA // Apr 8, 2009 at 5:29 pm

    Chris-

If I am hearing you right, you are going to offer a 6-month course on learning and developing the conduit method. And, we will be able to buy an ‘already made’ site that we would add our
    information into.

Is that what we can look forward to?

I read your ‘Confessions of a Lazy Super Affiliate’ and I got it! I just have not had the
    time to take it on.

I am so excited about this. Thank you.

  • 48 admin // Apr 8, 2009 at 6:30 pm

    Hi Stevie

The 6-month course covers a full range of topics. Not just the conduit method. The conduit method is just one facet of the whole picture.

The course will cover the gamut of running an affiliate BUSINESS. Not just siphoning traffic and testing markets.

The ready-made sites will be explained in more detail as time progresses. I’m ironing out the wrinkles as we speak.

    -Chris

  • 49 Ciara // Apr 9, 2009 at 11:28 am

    Hi Chris,

    Can’t wait for the 6 month program. Just a couple of questions on this;

How are you going to structure this – will the whole course be available up front so people can go at their own pace or do you plan to release modules monthly?
Also, could you give us an idea of when this will kick off?

    Thanks,
    Ciara

  • 50 admin // Apr 9, 2009 at 11:48 am

    Hi Ciara,

I think weekly instructions and lessons will be more effective than a one-time “dump” of information.

However, I may have an up-front payment option for those who don’t want to go the monthly recurring route, which would then potentially give them access to all of the information immediately.

Working on this one as fast as possible…

I don’t have a definite launch date (yet).

    Thanks

    -Chris

  • 55 Best Host // Apr 11, 2009 at 2:55 pm

Chris- I love your stuff. After subscribing to every list I could find when I started, I have now cut down to two lists: yours and one other. Looks look like a non-lazy 2009 for you.

Two things that I wish I knew more about but don’t yet are creating membership sites and link cloaking. The membership site appeals to me because of the consistent income that can be built.

I have found some of the sales letters from the so-called gurus on the subject, but they are either too expensive or just don’t move me to buy. If you wrote it, I would buy it in a heartbeat .

As for link cloaking, I have no idea what to believe and what not to. I think some of my clicks to CB are not getting tracked properly. Not being too terribly technical, I don’t know what precautions I really need to take and which I don’t.

    Keep up the great work!

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for the affiliate sites and for the fact that its not a membership. Buying what I want when is easier than yet another subscription – just cancled loads :)

I hope these in could be provided in wp blog form for its flexibity.

I’ll go test out the reviews search tool now

    Happy Easter

    Dear Chris,

I was just wondering how far-off in the not so
distant future will your Six Months to Six Figures Income course be available?

  • 59 admin // Apr 14, 2009 at 12:50 am

@ Best Host – thanks for letting me know, I may cover those topics in the future. Have you looked at Amember.com for the membership sites? That’s pretty standard…

Also, there’s the autoresponder model, like JD Brown’s Membernaire.com…

@ William – there will be blog support.

@ InfoMaven & Tracy – It’s in progress but it will be in a few months, and not weeks.

    Thanks!

    -Chris

    Chris,

Your stuff is always spot-on…simple and to the point and you always over deliver. You lay the pieces out there and leave it to us to put them together or take what you have learned as a base for building a real honest to goodness business. I’m not quite there yet and I had almost given up multiple times but I’m glad that I didn’t. Your words have given me so many “light bulb” moments….I just wish I could get over that hump and make it full time with my business…but I know that with perserverence and time I will. I have literally come along in leaps and bounds since I started following your advice…I still suck at article writing but to tell you the truth, I think that part of my roadblock is inside my head…but I’m working on that.

Thanks for everything and I’ll let you know as things progress.

    Cheers!
