Hey guys,
Well, after much anticipation – here’s a “glimpse” of what we’ve developed over the past 6 months.
The videos might take a few seconds to load up.
This takes the “conduit method” to the outermost limits of SEO leverage, and profit. Check it out, and be amazed…

Wow, this is powerful. Very impressive, I knew that what you were doing would be impressive, and I’m not disappointed. My only concern is your disclaimer up front kinda indicating not everyone would be able to get access. Do we have to qualify somehow?
BTW the second video isn’t working. It starts for about 5 sec then goes into a replay mode. Maybe you are still uploading.. Anyway, thanks Chris. I’ll try to be patient, but like some of the others, I haven’t slept decently since your first post.

Chris,
Is it possible to edit the published pages globally? Example, if we want to get remove the fax number from all the pages which are live, is it possible with a single click?
With the right plugins and theme, one can use wordpress to build a site similar to what you have shown. But editing the pages, the spit testing of ads and some of the security features makes your frame work one step ahead.
Excellent job, Matt.

@Neo He says in the video it only takes a few seconds to do this, so my guess is yes, the database fields can be edited globally.

Chris, now I fully get your other posts! Awesome looking piece of script!
Just ONE question:
Does the script scrape data to get the initial listings, or do they need to be manually input?
I wasn’t clear from watching the video whether you scrape a specified URL and it goes and fetches all the listings and plunks them into your new table/directory, or whether you have to do all that manually.
(I’m not talking about the extra descriptions, just the primary listing details such as company name, address, etc)
Thanks!

Certainly takes the bluehat “madlib” idea primetime.
My experience of doing sites like these and trying to “spin” and otherwise skimp on content is that they last a few months tops, so paying writers in return for longevity makes a lot of sense.
Thanks also for leaving the site up so we can have a proper sniff about. You’ve got a decent team of coders there Chris.

27 Chris Thompson // Jul 23, 2010 at 7:55 am
Chris – nice videos, they really show off the power of your framework.
It seems to me this could easily be used to promote any kind of offer, not just lead generation, right?
For example on your partner’s golf example, you’re promoting a driver and an ebook. So if you build a directory to get deep rankings for long tail keywords, you bring in relevant traffic, and you then pitch ANY offer that converts. If it doesn’t convert, you keep changing it until you find one that does. Am I catching the drift?
There has to be a lot of l0w-hanging fruit. I’m dreaming of all sorts of ideas
28 Dave W // Jul 23, 2010 at 7:55 am
Wow Chris! You’ve certainly outdone yourself this time. Hopefully its not a huge let down on launch day due to price.
I waded into the online game a couple years ago after my brick and mortar collapsed in the economic down turn and have been following your stuff pretty much that whole time.
Recently I’ve been developing leads for a couple of local businesses that have national reach products and have been in talks with them to develop industry specific directories. At least one of them is willing to pay up to $50 per converted lead. I’m very excited to see what you’re doing here to say the least.
I am a bit put off by your comment though about who will be able to get access – whether by price point or some other means. It seems that your list of followers is very diverse and a large number of us are in fact at or near the advanced beginner stage and not quite experts yet. In addition, most are currently strapped for cash as well.
Given that, I see 2 potential barriers to entry for that group: 1. price point of the product; and 2. cash flow to effectively put the platform to work.
If it is pricy then I do hope you’ll offer a managable payment plan option.
However, if most of us will be unable to buy in to this product, what insight can you offer as a method of working up to and graduating to the level of player you’re targeting? What I’m asking is what specific platform would you recommend as the best alternative for directory building for the sole purpose of capturing leads?
You mentioned several throughout the pre launch, but what specific one would you deploy (or are currently using as mentioned in video 1) if you couldn’t get access to your new directory product?
Looking forward to the launch with fearful anticipation…
- Dave

34 Daniel // Jul 23, 2010 at 8:38 am
Hi Chris,
Some questions that came to mind after seeing the videos:
1. Where do these databases come from, what do they typically cost, and is there some way to make a website unique even if it uses the same db as someone else (aside from entering unique descriptions)?
2. Can the website be populated using a list of keywords instead of a database?
3. As far as hiring people to enter descriptions goes – Is it a matter of those people searching the internet to get info on each local listing, or is there some easier way to get descriptive content for each local listing?
Thanks,
Daniel

49 Stuart // Jul 23, 2010 at 10:14 am
It certainly looks interesting Chris.
However, are you actually using this version yourself?
You didn’t look very familiar with the interface for someone who had put up a lot of sites with it. And kept saying things like ‘I think’ as though you had hardly ever seen the interface.
I thought I would have a look on Google for footprints with “Search Directory:” + “Close To:” which seems to be in that design you used in the video, and only 3 sites show up.
The one in your video. The one Matt put up above for golf. And one other.
That gives the impression that this software is only actually being used in this launch, and either hasn’t previously been used, or is being used in a different version by you.
This is obviously important, as no-one wants to buy the version just created for the launch, not the version created that you say you are having success with for the last year.
So a few questions to clarify:
1/ Are you using the exact same version as you will be selling or is it modified in any way from the version you actually use to create your sites?
If so, how come the lack of sites?
2/ How many sites have you actually created with this software?
3/ Are they making money?
4/ Have you had any issues with them getting de-indexed quickly?
This strikes me as a little like the directory generator software by Armand Moran that made fortunes for folks on adsense years ago on scraped content.
ie It works well until people ACTUALLY start doing it in bulk.
People using the same databases with this could end up being the equivalent, and then all of the sites get de-indexed.
5/ With regards to the content creation to distinguish the pages. It sounds like you are getting 100 word article snippets written for each page.
Take as an example your used car directory. Lets say it was only 1000 pages and hence manageable to add content to.
What are you getting people to write about for those 1000 pages?
They clearly know nothing about the particular car dealership. And in many cases you just have an address, and not a website so they can’t research it.
So what are they writing about?
It seems to me that unless you distinguish the pages they will very soon get de-indexed, but that if you are essentially having nonsense content written (1000 pages all on the subject of used cars in general?) then they won’t pass a human review, and will get marked down as spam directories and get de-indexed over time anyway.
6/ How easy is it to get hold of databases that are not widely used? (Or are you actually pro-actively having databases created specifically for you? If so, where?)
That is clearly where the rubber meets the road.
You can own a fantastic Porsche, (the software) but without the tires (the database) it isn’t going to do you any good.
Looks interesting Chris.
But would appreciate answers to those questions.

@ Matt (#40)
Did you watch through both videos?
This isn’t “yet another CMS” like PHPLD. The key components here (such as integrated, optimized marketing functions) are exactly the things that I wanted to emphasize in our development – because no other solution offers them.
Using a “normal” directory script is going to severely limit your conversions, and plain & simple it’s just not set up for this style of affiliate marketing.
Here’s what I posted the other day on the Part 4 post…
————————————————
A colleague of mine emailed me about it, asking what the difference was between current offerings.
This is a part of my response, which addresses a few of the comments above as well:
—————————————
“Yes, we’ve surveyed all of the comp.
WF Review, DirectoryPress, EZ Empire Builder, eDirectory, Focal PowerSeek, PHPYellow, etc.
None of them have the functionality I needed. Ours is as robust as a CMS like what Yelp or MerchantCircle uses, with the exception that we have things like category-specific ad tracking and split-testing, exit/onload popups hardwired in, along with a host of other things.
Not to mention, all the WP driven platforms just can’t produce what I would call a “real” directory. All the sites I’ve seen using them very much like like the standard MFA setup, and the WP backbone is quite a bit more limiting when it comes to trying to code in stuff like data modification, creating writer accounts with access to the data, etc.
Of the WP retrofits, EZ Empire is the closest to a viable competitor, but it’s not a professional solution and is something I’d only use to build throwaway sites for the purpose of list-building (or “competing” with my real sites, on a different server just to pick up some extra traffic).
The other scripts didn’t have the ability to “self-grow”, and it would take a lot of code-busting to get them to a point where your site would get away from the “yet another DMOZ clone” type of setup.
The bottom line is that I constructed this for myself since I didn’t feel like using what was available, as it was too limiting.
My demo vid is going up on the blog soon, and it will showcase exactly what this thing does to set it miles above.”

Chris,
I’ve been a (silent) fan of yours for some time now. Not silent anymore, this is unbelievably powerful…….Funny thing, I had been looking into ways of doing what your software does, obviously piecemeal, and truly nothing out there even comes close. Thanks, hope to be able to be able to participate.
56 admin // Jul 23, 2010 at 10:35 am
@Stuart (49),
1. I do have sites using this exact structure that produce impressive revenue, and for people who buy the script – I’ll be showcasing some of them.
(I’m not going to showcase an established site publicly).
2. Yes, this is the exact script I’m using for a very large campaign I’m rolling out in the lending vertical RIGHT NOW – which I’ll also be showcasing for our buyers.
3. Re: Footprint. First of all, footprint means nothing – it refers to illicit LINKING practices or scripts that utilize cloaking.
Think about how many spam WordPress blogs are out there, or even blackhat applications that run on the WP platform.
Do you think Google “footprints” WP?
No. They don’t.
What matters is that your data is useful and contains your own descriptions.
4. Re: Descriptions – I actually just had a writer return a 7,500 row database of Canadian Mortgage Brokers, where each individual office has its own unique 2 – 3 sentence writeup that makes SENSE, and is relevant.
Because it’s a blurb about the business itself, which isn’t hard to research or get details about.
And I am using this software in its exact, current format to work with my data.
We’ve spent more on development, and on my end more on setting up a business that runs on this type of framework than what the average retiree has in their 401K.
I am only launching this for two reasons:
1) Because the developers have an equity share in the software and they want startup capital for building/launching their OWN sites
2) Because it’s awesome, and I like to provide awesome things to my list.
You can believe whatever you want, but the fact is, there is a reason why sites like PeopleSearchAffiliates.com showcase me as a producing affiliate.
And there’s also a reason why my tax bill this year was the equivalent of multiple supercars.
I walk the walk, folks.
And this is for those who do also.
Thanks

Hi Chris,
Great video. One thing I am wondering about though. Where & how do you go about gettting the scraped content. From what you are saying and what I gather from the video is that you can make it more unique by updating the descriptions in the table but where do your source the database data from initially.
Is this type of info available freely or does one have to buy another script to get the data into the database in the first case

But, what really amazes me are the inane comments left by those accusing you of not being sufficiently familiar with the software – and intimating the product is just a way for you to scam others. You should consider taking them off your list. They are more interested in finding a flaw than crediting you on the outstanding features of the product. They do not deserve the product.

@Website Evaluation
While doing the black box testing (worst case) we ran a 300,000 page site through it. The hardest process on the server was building the site maps (there were 8 site maps at 8-9MB each) and the url list which was 24MB this took a total of 12sec on a dedicated server. (this only occurs once per day)
For the real world where sites are most likely in the 100- 10000 range there will be no heavy server load.
71 The Mad Scientist // Jul 23, 2010 at 12:17 pm
@Those questioning Chris’s familiarity with the interface
The process which my team designed with Chris for this application was based EXACTLY on one of his 6 figure income sites (built the long and hard way).
My team and I changed up the UI a couple of times on Chris so it is not his fault that he got turned around a couple of times in the video. (I gotta keep him on his toes)
The reality for Chris is that on his demo site (business) – using this application on he will most likely use the admin panel only a couple of times while building.
As far as footprints and success – the golf directory was put up a few days ago and within a couple of days of submitting the sitemap to google it is getting indexed.
There will be no “powered by” links etc in this application- therefore no common search string to find sites using it.
The “Search Directory” and “Close To” are part of the templates so you can change them to make your directory more unique.
Hope that answers the questions so far.

Hi Chris,
Is it possible for actual businesses that are listed in the directory you create… to access and have the ability to edit only their listing?
The reason I ask is that you can offer to get leads (and increase their local presence in google etc.) for them.
Therefore in order to help you to increase the effectiveness of the biusinesses mown marketing they (the businesses) can ask previous customers to contribute reviews etc. or add some of their own content, images etc.. to personalise their biz listing on your directory.
This all adds to the value of your directory/website for selling later on or ibcreasing the quality of your leads.
#
2. Also how does Google Places tie into this? Businesses are now starting to add their details to this service and optimise their own seo on their own websites.
Is there a way to leverage these ‘Google Places’ listings in any way (i.e. link building exchanges etc.)?

Split testing the initial offer is included but will there be framework functionality to “manage” the whole work-flow e.g. displaying pre-pop’s (house list), filtering, showing the long form lead gen page(s) (your own or from a 3rd party), without hand building pages?
This was detailed in your earlier posts.

Please put me on your list to be a beta tester.
80 Bob // Jul 23, 2010 at 6:07 pm
Looks impressive – this is an area I was thinking of trying out (honest) though my budget is a bit tight just now – otherwise would have loved to beta test, still would but never sure how these things come about.
Anyway, not just saying this, but as ever impressed with the content and delivery of great information. Always surprised by some commenters(?) – do people not read posts/watch videos before posting questions, and also the occasional negative/petty folks – ain’t you got better things to do?
Not trying to be the class swot, and Chris is a big boy (er the first time I’ve ever written that sentence) but wanted to say it anyway.
Thanks
Bob
ps for what its worth I hate ‘man you’re fantastic’ type comments on pre-release blogs etc, partly because I’m British and its unbecoming, and partly because its dull. But I do think that the few marketers who provide quality (for free and paid) like Chris deserve some credit, respect and thanks.

OK so how do I get on your mailing list?
83 My Wealthy Affiliate Bonus // Jul 23, 2010 at 6:47 pm
Chris
impressive, to say at least.
What I would like to add here are a few things, 1 was already mentioned.
1 – Google Local Business box.
We always (I know, not always but mostly) get the 7 box on top for local searches which rakes in the biggest part of the SEO traffic.
That means that you have to get to spot 1 or 2 with the site to get decent traffic, or you are below the fold and mingle around.
2 – Don’t you think the EASE of the software will pollute the markets, niches ? Even if you limit this?
Only a few using this script and the “good affiliate” markets covering ALL states, counties etc. in the US are gone.
We always will have competition, I know, but ranking directories isn’t that easy IMO, the same ole SEO war to fight with backlinks etc.
3 – This will definitely NOT come cheap, and I even recommend to charge a lot cause if everyone and his dog would fiddle with such a script the party would be over soon I guess.
This means that I most probably can’t afford it, but that’s OK as this has to be in the hands of pro’s who knows what they do – IMO.
Anyhow, congrats to that script, absolutely amazing and a WAY better launch then AG or the unfinished AA.
G.
84 Steve // Jul 23, 2010 at 8:19 pm
Chris,
The example site you built in the video http://www.usedautodirectory.com/ is just to show us how quickly you can crank out these sites, right?
Unless I’m misunderstanding something big here (and that is quite possible!), I’m asking because it doesn’t follow the same model you described in Part 4 of ‘Where The Money Is Now’ in that the ‘city sites’ aren’t supposed to link to the main site, etc.
What more will you do with http://www.usedautodirectory.com/ so it does NOT get de-indexed by Google in the next 6 months to a year?
Thanks
Steve

Hi Chris,
This looks excellent and will likely want to use it. Can this be incorporated into existing sites. I have four sites which offers reviews of various products so this would be excellent to expand those sites and offer more reviews. The sites are gradually being built up with 300 to 400 word content on detailed reviews so I feel this should be a great money spinner.
87 Erik // Jul 24, 2010 at 5:38 am
The last post voices my main concern: if this is so easy, will this not ruin the directory marketing area?

Hi Chris,
This looks so simple, how much is it for the software?? I suspect its going to be in the “ouch” area.
The one problem I forsee is getting the content at the lowest level that is qoing to require outsourcing.
Stop teasing us…. whats the price???

Hi Chris,
Great videos, Thank you!
I see that you can add the description to the Company page (some auto dealer company in the city) but I wondering if is it possible to edit and add article/description to the State level and City level pages? I mean, for example, can I (via admin interface) add a text and edit these pages – usedautodirectory.com/Used-Car-Dealerships/AL/ and usedautodirectory.com/Used-Car-Dealerships/AL/Adamsville?
93 Steve B // Jul 24, 2010 at 12:55 pm
Hi Chris,
Really impressed with this. I have found a way to build public record sites using wordpress, but this takes it a lot further. Also have just got started with affiliate genie.
My only real wish is that this is affordable as many of us have some knowledge, but limited funds to get something was this potential underway.
Thanks for the videos as they have been eye opening about how far you can go with this.

95 Shawn // Jul 25, 2010 at 12:12 am
Chris-
I was under the impression that the idea was to add the directory to a subdomain or subfolder so it does not look so spammy like this http://vitalrecordsdirectory.com/, but as an ‘afterthought’ to a real site.

This is really impressive. I run an seo company and can beat a lot of the big directories advertising against my clients websites for local search businesses.
Sometimes i’m struck by the amount of search terms the directories show up for in the top 10. They sure get a lot of page views. I’ve thought about opening an info directory or wedding directory for some time. Now with this software the time could be now.
Count my in as a beta tester if there’s any slots going.

Chris, this is something that I have thought of developing for a few years. I recall about three years ago that Keith Baxter was promoting directory website development and it was then that I was studying how to develop a site off a database.
I would like to be a beta tester for this as I still have those domains that would be perfect!

104 Dietrich Lasa // Jul 26, 2010 at 4:14 am
Whether it is a directory that aims for a national or international audiences depends probably on the product. An international directory for carpet cleaners would appear to be rather ridiculous, whereas some directories, such as my violin directory above, would make very good ‘international use’ of your script. I am very interested indeed and I am already contemplating its applications.

107 Chris Thompson // Jul 26, 2010 at 3:40 pm
Chris – am I correct in thinking that this doesn’t have to be used for lead gen?
Say I had an awesome product for “family therapy” (I don’t – I’m making up this example). Anyone who wanted to see a family therapist might google the potential therapist’s name. So if I created a directory of therapists I’d be bound to get long tail traffic. I’d present the offer above the fold, just like MadScientist’s golf example, right?
This could work for pretty much anything, methinks.
108 The Mad Scientist // Jul 26, 2010 at 7:36 pm
@Chris Thompson
This is exactly right. The golf directory offers an ebook as the top fold offer and helps direct traffic to my golf statistics tracking site.
You could use this framework for any kind of large Directory/Database driven site but offer up any promotion/offer you like.

As a self-contained framework it makes things much easier starting a new site from scratch.
However what if you have an existing authority site running on wordpress/drupal etc?
How easy will it be to integrate without losing any functionality? I’m guessing quite a few of us fall into this category.
Very interested in being a beta customer.
Great work guys, you made your mammas proud.
112 The Mad Scientist // Jul 28, 2010 at 12:09 pm
@Paul S
Yes you can insert html in to the description editor it will accept javascript or html.
@Ciaran
If you have an authority site already this framework could be used as an add on in a subfolder or subdomain of the site.
113 John // Jul 28, 2010 at 4:05 pm
This may be a silly question but does the application also create and insert a lead gen form into the site per your specs or do you need to find a programmer to create a special script for each site? How does that work exactly?

Hi Chris
1. Are your database requirements in MS-SQL or MY-SQL or another other format.
2. You say you are going with a NON-wordpress option… Why on earth? Well it must be for a very good reason I guess… please be lucid in your explanation of this.
3. How long have you been in the Alpha test phase etal for this, and is the current release now sorted and stable?
116 Alex // Jul 29, 2010 at 5:32 am
Hi Chris,
I have read all the blog posts but I can’t find the answers to some questions and it still isn’t clear to me. Could you kindly help to clear some things up?
1) How to build a good database, what software or services to use? Where the best places to buy a ready-made databases? Is it a good choice to buy a database or it’s better to build it myself?
I have read all the blog posts but all I understand that we can “buy” or “scrap” these databases.. I can’t find any other details.
I have found a couple of websites selling databases but they offering quite limited number of niches and cost of database are about $500.
2) I’m not sure I understand a technical aspect of how to setting up a lead capture process that described on this page – http://www.thelazymarketer.com/blog/2010/06/29/where-the-easy-money-is-now-part-3/.
I don’t see this solution implemented in your directory builder..
I don’t understand a technical aspect of how to setting up – “Step 1: The PrePop Squeeze” -> “Step 2: The Full Form Submission” -> “Filters”.
How can I setting it up? What software/service should I use? What is the cost of this software/service?
Thank you in advance, I appreciate your time.
Regards,
Alex

A few years ago some worked on websites that spawned thousands of pages (and other websites). It worked for a while.
Then the party ended when Google squashed it.
119 admin // Jul 29, 2010 at 7:18 pm
Greg (#118)
Have you read the blog series?
Why don’t you show me an example of a site with thousands of QUALITY pages, with unique content, that Google has penalized?
That’s the whole idea. Unique content, quality databases.
Of course, some shitty scraper-site framework that displays nothing but base data and RSS feeds will be lucky to have a 6 month lifespan.
That’s exactly why I’m not building them.
Read through the 4 part series.
And THEN make your sarcastic comment, once you have the fundamentals of what my message actually is.
-Chris
P.S. Care to explain why Yelp.com, Lawyers.com, MortgageLoan.com, MerchantCircle.com, etc. are all highly established in Google’s SERPs?
Those are nothing more than database mashups, and the sites we’re building using this software have far more content than those.
The UsedAutoDirectory example site is an EXAMPLE, for the purpose of showing how it handles data.
I’ll be dumping that table and importing a database with around 1000 entries when that site is ready to be marketed, complete with unique descriptions, etc.

@Glen (#115), Chris has always been an html kinda guy.
I recall from an interview that he did a couple of years ago that answered that he really wasn’t technical and when the “old stuff” still works, then why change it.
For those of us being brought up with WordPress it can seem odd. But in the end, the result is the same and whatever platform, it would still require tweaking.

Hey guys – quick update here (from my phone, currently travelling).
Monday I’ll be offering the release candidate to aff intel members. And either monday or tues I’ll put up another video that basically summarizes everything, the whole biz model, etc.
I know this is taking awhile, but this is a far cry from an ebook, or even something like affiliate genie.
The directory building elements are completely finished, and we are finalizing the data collection and data propogation systems currently.
In the meantime, this is why I’ve really gone to town with the 4 part series, etc
Look for the summary vid in a few days, and aff intel members – look for the early bird testing phase on monday.

Re: Release Date
We are aiming for 3 weeks from now (Aug. 23rd or so).
The actual site-builder (the MAKO) is totally completed and well-tested on many different servers, but we’re just finalizing some of the complimentary integrations, which will make this totally and optionally automated for some users.
In a word, we are talking “push-button” unique content solutions that does the following:
1. Creates seed databases
2. One-click outsourcing solutions to make any database truly unique – adding fluent, relevent multiple sentence descriptions to every row of any database. (This taps into an existing and established operation with over 500 writers on staff).
Extremely powerful.
The idea here with my launch isn’t to sell thousands of copies. That would be stupid, for numerous reasons.
Instead, the goal is to provide a serious platform for serious marketers.
So… I know this is taking awhile.
And if a 3 week wait is a little on the long side of things, I understand. It’s totally okay. That’s why I’ve tried to go into great detail concerning the whole process, the biz model, etc.
You certainly don’t need to build 50,000 page sites for this to be effective.
In fact, I wouldn’t recommend building anything larger than what you can feasibly propogate with decent unique content.
There’s plenty of authority sites earning major revenue with just a few hundred pages of content.
My suggestion is to start with around 250 – 2,000 entries and then to create good, unique descriptions for each entry.
You’ll draw far more long-term traffic with a solid, unique-content 500 page directory than you will with a 50,000 page site with scraped, limited content.
Anyway…
We aim to go live 3 weeks from now.
If you can hold on, it WILL be worth it.

Hi Chris. I’m impressed by the whole concept and very much interested to buy this offer. I’m just wondering what to do with my the affiliate genie that i bought back in late autumn? I only used it once to make a crappy site -but being a mother of two i’m literally struggling to even turn on the computer nowadays-and now with this directory money maiking tool on the table, I feel like i wasted my money buyiing affiliate genie. Like you said in this four part series, affiliate marketing is very tough now and for someone like me who hasn’t even got a website yet and with two kids, I don’t have a chance at all! But this is something that won’t take up much of my time to set up and do i guess.
If what you are offering is too expensive here, is there any way in which the Affiliate Genie can be used to create this massive directory? Maybe if you offer extra files to upload or something similar. At least that way I know the Affiliate genie application won’t gather dust.
Thanks

Hey Chris,
I’ve developed my own database system based on e-book you sent out a couple of months ago, but it’s pretty weak compared to what you have to offer. I stopped working on it, though, when I read about this. I’m very anxious to get back after it, as I truly believe in this concept. I’d hate to wait for 3 weeks to find out I can’t afford it or it will be limited in some other way that I won’t have access to buying it.
Can you give us some idea of your plans on how you’re going to limit it, and a rough idea of the price if that’s the plan? I’d be willing to join your aff intel program if that will get me the info, but I don’t see where to do that!
Thanks!

@saf #136,
Affiliate Genie is by no means a waste of money.
In fact, you can easily create your city-sites using AG with this strategy, and on top of that – “regular” affiliate marketing is alive and kicking.
All this strategy is really doing is exposing a new avenue for traffic sources.
Like I said in the beginning, this isn’t for beginners.
It is perfectly viable to use a program like Aff Genie to start out, build a collection of targeted product-centric affiliate sites in profitable markets, put in some effort with link-building and start earning some decent revenue.
We’ve heard from more than a few customers now who are earning full-time level revenues with their network of AG sites.

Thinking outside the Box!
If Chris Rempel’s MAKO Software is not for everyone, then why does everyone need it? Seth Godin says a Tribe is not for everyone and then explains why you need one.
The creator of Squidoo, Seth Godin has been in the big leagues for years. If you can get past the boring beginning and listen until you get to the middle, by the end I think this whole concept will take on a much more meaningful, useful purpose.

Okay, let me try this again. If you can get past the boring first part of this video, Seth Godin explains exactly what all this means: http://wealthlpp.com/tribe
I read all 140 comments and quite a few don’t understand what you mean by your up front apology in advance to anyone who might think the MAKO software is for everyone because you clearly say it is NOT but ……
…… WHY not? The assumption is the cost must be too high for everyone or worse, if you were anyone else, it could be taken as a weak attempt at scarcity tactics taught in Marketing 101.
I’ve heard close to the same thing about other products but it’s more of a weepy and sad tearful apology for a bigger ROE boost right from start! (E=Emotion)
Many are too quick to assume it’s for spammy purposes when, in fact, these massive directories can grow into PR7 or higher but that’s not for everyone either.
More to the point – If the Mako Software is not for everyone then not everyone will have to pay for the benefits which ARE scaled for everyone even if we can’t see it yet

@ Chris – Had never thought about Affiliate Genie as a potential platform to build the local sites on. But once you mentioned it in #139 the light bulb finally went on in my head.
I have been looking all over the place for a simple, all-in-one solution to build and (equally important) manage these site networks. Then you casually drop AG into the conversation, and I’m like: “Duh?!?!”
So thanks for the head-smack.
But please take a minute and refresh our recollections on how AG could work as an alternative to tools like WordPress Direct, Firepow, Blogmatrix Pro, WP ManagerDX, Blog Site Builder, etc. on the small local sites.

I’ll tell you that I’ve never seen more ungrateful comments and accusations before ever.
@saj It’s not Chris’ fault you built a “crappy” Affiliate Genie website. As Chris said, you didn’t waste money on it either. I just sold an Affiliate Genie website for good money on Flippa that was merely 3months old. People were impressed with it and the buyer even went on to buy their own copy of Affiliate Genie so they could build other sites. Waste of money? I think not.
I see a lot of people whine and cry about how they aren’t making money online. If I learned anything from my mentor, it’s this; Internet Marketing is a business just like any other business. You get out of it what you put into it. There is NO push button money making machine. You must take this seriously and build your business like any other business, or you will fail. You can’t just slap up a website and call it a day thinking it’s going to make you money overnight. Everyone wants everything handed to them on a silver platter. All I can say is “good luck to you” cuz it’s not going to happen here.
The MAIN reason people don’t make any money in this business….is because they are too lazy and don’t want to work. And the people that leave shitty comments here are just lazy and ungrateful…yeah I said it.
I’m starting to come into my own because of hard work, determination, and perseverance. This is my business, my life. Not some “hobby.”
Now I am going away because my girlfriend says she has an arrow stuck in her back (She’s playing Elder Scrolls-Oblivion =) I’ll leave you guys with something to think about:

Ziah – Ziah – Ziah – Interesting name.
Did you forget this is the Official Home of The Lazy Marketer?”
QUOTE: “I’m starting to come into my own because of hard work, determination, and perseverance. This is my business, my life. Not some “hobby.”
When I read how you describe yourself, I knew instantly what you have that makes you different. You cannot comprehend any of what you read so you rant thinking WTF is wrong with everyone – 97% is almost everyone.
Do you even KNOW what you have? DRIVE. People with drive are self-motivated from within. No amount of money or incentive can change what they’re driven to do and failure just drives them that much harder Nothing gets in their way without permission.
People don’t make money because they are all “lazy & don’t want to work” is simply not true.
They just don’t want to look stupid if they fail so they don’t learn anything first-hand. If they weren’t afraid of what others think & say about them, they would be free to fail and they would learn how to succeed faster.
The other thing is trusting the wrong people. Anyone who hasn’t passed the test of time is never to be trusted. Wait. Watch. Listen. Then you’ll see the truth unfold.
The MAIN reason people don’t make money is simply because they don’t work together, each one doing what they want and like to do for the benefit of everyone.
That was the original purpose of the Forum over 12 years ago. People are too busy marketing to each other instead of working together to build the business they already started.
People who behave themselves are the key to success. Gee, that could be the reason for the screening and approval process your mentor has initiated without fear of what anyone thinks or says.
Now Grow some SKIN -
Find Some Good People who Behave
and go make some money together!! Working together Works.

Hey Chris,
Love the new business software. Can you monetize the database of business listings or do you plan provide listings for free? Can’t wait to learn more.
